Hurricane Fiona made landfall in Puerto Rico on September 18, causing widespread power and water service outages for more than 3.1 million residents. The storm has also left over one million people without running water in the Dominican Republic and has brought deadly flooding in Turks and Caicos and Bermuda.

Puerto Rico never fully recovered from Hurricane Maria in 2017, which killed nearly 3,000 people and destroyed the power grid. Now, millions of residents are without food, water or shelter. Our thoughts are with all those impacted, especially our My Brother’s Keeper Alliance Community in Loíza, a town in Puerto Rico of roughly 30,000 mostly Afro-descendant people.
